He was in the MLB for 22 seasons. He died Aug. 16th 1948. He was born February 6th 1895. He hit 714 home runs in his career. He was also a pitcher for the boston red sox and he was very good at it. He came into the league in 1914 and left in 1935. He hit 15 home runs in a world series. As a pitcher for the Red Sox he threw 26 scoreless innings, in a world series. His real name is George Herman Ruth. Babe won 4 championships with the Yankees. He also won 3 with the Red Sox. In 1948 he retired the number 3 to the New York Yankees.
